Meet The .Me Team: Interview with Nataša Đukanović

In this week’s installment of Meet The .Me Team the honor of being interviewed has fallen on Nataša Đukanović, our Sales and Marketing Director. Full of smiles. Mother to her children – and everybody else in the office! 🙂 I will let her to tell us more about herself, so without any further ado, here is the interview.
Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from, where are you now?
I am born in Podgorica, I have always lived and probably will always be living in Montenegro. I love my country, my family, my job, my friends, not necessarily in that order. I am always a mom, protecting and taking care of people around me. That’s an instinct and no, it’s not easy. I am a co-founder of a NGO Digitalizuj.Me where I tried, together with some very dear people to me, to materialize my wish to help people. What I do is what describes me best. My job is my hobby and vice versa.
How would you describe your work style?
I think I am very organized and very fast in doing things. That’s not always good, but I can’t help it. When I am nervous I am doing reports and analysis, that’s my super power.
What advice would you give to someone who is starting in your profession?
The diploma you get is not important if you don’t know how to use the knowledge you gained in school. When you start working that’s when the true learning starts. That’s an advise for everybody everywhere.
What do you do, when you’re not working?
I do folk dance. I am always trying to connect all of my kids to go somewhere all together and I am not very successful but, I am thankful for every time I succeed. The rest of the time I read or walk.
Tell us one embarrassing and/or silly thing about yourself.
As a child I used to perform on stage, singing, dancing, acting in school-shows and when I was 9 the drape on the stage closed behind me and I couldn’t go through, so I got stuck on the stage alone. I was petrified. The audience was kind enough to applause but I still have the same fear of the stage. So, be nice when I’m on stage.
You have dinner with one person of your choice, dead or alive, who is it?
George R. R. Martin. I need to ask him about the end of A Song of Ice and Fire. I am afraid that he won’t make it to the end. I’d promise I wouldn’t say a thing.
What is the latest gadget you bought and why?
I am not a gadget person. I bought iPad two years ago and “big” after that, apart from some special ops knives things (for my kitchen) and flippers.
What is the last book you read and how would you rate it?
The God Particle: If the Universe Is the Answer, What Is the Question? by Leon M. Lederman. I did it per my friend’s recommendation. Apart from learning about physics and history of science there are some truths about life and ordinary things, and lots of fun. I didn’t know that a physicist could be such a good writer. Even if I know some physicists who could be fantastic too. 10/10
What is your favourite website?
I browse a lot and the design of a site is very important for me. So every time I find something new, a new style, it strikes me. But, what is more important is the content. I am amazed by Wikipedia and all the stuff you can find there. That’s the greatest stuff people could make and thanks everybody for the contribution. Which reminds me, I am finally going to donate some money now.
You are stranded on a deserted island only with your suitcase and five things in it. What are those things and why?
I would be more Bear Grylls than Robinson Crusoe. I think Rambo knife is a perfect thing for that, probably matches…I can’t think of anything else.
Are you prepared for zombie apocalypse? How?
People say I am a brave person, but when it comes to zombies I am a real sissy. I would probably be terrified all the time. How do you prepare for anything terrifying?
Facebook or Twitter? If you prefer one over the other?
Facebook, because my kids are there, Twitter because some of the wittiest people I know and don’t know are there.
What is your favourite OS?
I used to use Windows for ages, and then Linux and Android phone. Now I use iPhone, iPad, and MacBook. Nothing is more important for me than the fast response. As I said I am not a patient person, I can’t wait for an app to open, and when it takes too much, it kills me. So Apple.
If you could pick up a superhero power, what would it be and why?
This is a favorite game we play at home, and everybody has their own favorite Marvel character. I would normally want to be Superman if the new movie didn’t break all my illusions, I am more human than that. So maybe Flash, to get everywhere really fast.
We hope you have enjoyed this interview with Nataša. Stay tuned for one more .Me team interview!
