Post Your Instagram Photos at the Perfect Time With LaterGram.Me

4 min read,

A typical user posts tweets, Facebook posts or Instagram photos when they have something to put online – and that’s fine. If you, however, want to grow the number of your Instagram followers, that kinds of random use of the service won’t put you any close to Kim Kardashian. If your photos are THAT INTERESTING, you’ll definitely get more people to follow you, but using a service like Latergramme.Me will grow your followers far, far faster! Just ask Latergramme.Me’s over 150,000 global users!

Before we go into ‘how’ to schedule your posts, let’s remind ourselves why scheduling is a simple way to have a better organized, more popular Instagram account. According to Latergramme.Me’s own research from February 2015., the time that a photo was posted on the popular image service impacted the number of ‘likes’ and comments it got.

By analyzing over 61,000 posts, Latergramme.Me’s team determined that 2 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST are the best times to post if you want users to pay attention to you, while 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. were the worst possible times. As Latergramme.Me’s founder Matt Smith told Huffington Post, it’s probable that fewer people are posting at that time and more engaged users are using Instagram at that specific time.

Does The Day You Post on Instagram Matter?

While the time you post at can severely impact how many likes and comments your photos get, Latergramme.Me’s research showed that the day of posting wasn’t as important. They definitely saw more engagement on Wednesdays, but other days of the week weren’t far less significant in terms of engagement to make you or me not post on them. Mondays, Saturdays or even Fridays – the rest of the week is fine but do try to post something on Wednesday.

How to Schedule Your Instagram Posts?

Now that we know when to post our photos if we’re in the Western hemisphere, let’s look at Latergramme.Me to make it happen. Developed during a 2014 hackathon in Vancouver, Latergramme.Me was created to make it easier to post on the popular photo social network Instagram.

Latergram.Me schedule

You log in into Latergramme.Me with your Instagram profile, which is free up to 30 uploads per month. The app’s interface is very simple and offers a big “Add New Media” button that lets you upload media either from your computer, Dropbox or Google Drive! In order to look good on Instagram, images need to be at least larger than 640×640 pixels. While the basic, free plan lets you add photos, Latergramme.Me’s premium plans that start at 19$ per month let you not only upload video posts, but also new Instagram accounts and team members. The premium plans will prove useful to brands and agencies with multiple people working on an account or managing client’s Instagram accounts.

After you add your images, you’ll have everything that you add viewable as a very practical schedule that you can edit if you decide to change when a certain photo or video needs to go out. The schedule is viewable per week or per month, which makes it even easier to organize your content, since you can add photos on a weekly basis and then ‘zoom out’ to see the monthly plan.

Unfortunately, Instagram doesn’t yet allow automated posting to its service, so Latergramme.Me will actually remind you to post your photo by sending you an alert through its web app or its mobile apps that we’ll mention later on!

Why Post When You Can Repost?

Reposting is similar to ‘retweeting’ on Twitter. You promote somebody else’s content through your own Instagram account. While not an official feature, multiple apps let you repost other’s Instagram photos. Lategramme.Me also supports reposting as its ‘Search & Repost’ feature that lets you search user’s accounts and #hashtags for photos to repost. Very simple!
