Instagram in Real Life: (Almost) Instant Real Things You Can Get from Your Instagram Photos

In case you have been sleeping under a rock lately, let’s first explain what Instagram is. Instagram is a social network for smartphone users that helps them create and share photos. It used to be exclusive for the iPhone, but since the beginning of April, Android users can download it from their Google Play market as well. It has more than 40 million users, so by now everybody (and their mother) has at least heard of it.
If you are a big Instagram fan, you might want to see your pictures in real life. Here are several things you could create using your Instagram photo stream.
iPhone Cases
Since most of Instagram users are (still) iPhone owners, let’s start with this. Casteagram lets you create a unique iPhone case that will both protect your precious gadget and showcase (see what I did there? 😉 ) your favourite photos. You can choose between a white or a transparent case, several interesting layouts (even heart-shaped) and whether you want the photos as they are, or in greyscale.
One case will cost you $35 dollars and it will be shipped to you for free (worldwide). The website assures you your case will be one of a kind and that they will not reuse your design for another users.
Calendars
Do you still use wall calendars? Probably not, since you carry one around in your pocket on your smartphone. However, calendars are still a pretty popular choice for Christmas presents and you could gift your parents or grandparents the best one yet – the one you designed by yourself! With a little bit of help from Calendagram, of course.
You will, however, need an iPhone for this gift because the calendars are created via an iPhone app. Once you choose your 12 photos, you can select different backgrounds and which day of the week you want your calendar to start on (Sunday or Monday). One calendar will cost you 21,99 € and shipping will be 3,20 € (at least that’s what it came out for me).
Magnets
If you buy a magnet for your fridge at every place you visit (like yours truly), you might want to reconsider your tactics. Why not take awesome Instagram pics of your favourite locations and have the magnets made from them? This is exactly what Stickygram is for.
Each magnet will be 5 cm x 5 cm. For our friends on the imperial system, that is a little bit less than 2 inches. Magnets come in packs of 9 and they will probably be small enough to simply fit into your mailbox, no signature required for the package. Shipping is free, and one pack of magnets will be $15. Probably cheaper than you would have paid for your souvenir on the street.
Canvas Art
Are your walls empty? Maybe you recently moved in and you want some paintings, pictures or posters on your walls? Why not use the best of your Instagram stream to decorate your living room? Just use CanvasPop!
You can choose between many options of sizes and frame styles and the prices go from $30 to $468. If you want your frame to be deeper than the standard, it could cost you up to $517 dollars more. This is by far the priciest item I found, but I know I have some awesome photos I would love to see on my walls. Ah, money, money, money…
Besides those items, you could make postcards, posters, books or even ceramic tiles and t-shirts from your Instagram photos. Have you found any cool real life uses of your Instagram stream? Leave us a link in the comments!
