Homescreen.Me Wants Your iPhone & iPad Homescreen Screenshots

3 min read,

Homescreen.Me is a simple web service for sharing screenshots of your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch with other people. Let’s be more precise – Homescreen.Me wants you to share your homescreen with the world.

It just opened its door to the public, so feel free to register for a profile – don’t worry, it’s not a Facebook-like social network, but a rather specific one with some great ideas behind it.

When you get an account at Homescreen.Me, you’ll also get a secret email address (which is pretty memorable, smart move!) to which you can send your homescreens to. Of course, you could upload them via the web as well, but if you’re creating a screenshot on your phone, why not simply upload it from the device, right?

With every screenshot you’ll be able to choose one of several iOS devices: the iPhone, iPhone 4/4S (black or white), iPad, iPad 2 (black or white), the new iPad (black or white) and finally, iPod Touch (3rd and 4th generation). Based on your choice, your screenshot will get a nice device in your profile.

You can also add a simple description with your screenshot, explaining why those apps are so imporant to you, where you got them, how you are using them, why the folders are arranged the way they are etc. You can browse through other people’s homescreens as well!

What’s So Hot About Homescreen Screenshots?

While there are many useless services on the web, this one just might be pretty useful. You see, you can place only so many apps on your homescreen, right? You’ll choose the ones that are most important to you – so if you have several to-do apps installed, the chances are one will grow to your heart at it will get to the homescreen while others are going to end up on a second screen.

Developers and companies that develop these apps might use Homescreen.Me to analyze how many people have their apps on the homescreen – which can be corelated with how much that app is being used; most of the iOS users will use homescreen for apps they use throughout the day, every single day, right?

So, if you’re an iOS device owner, head over to Homescreen.Me and share your homescreen screenshot – you know you want it to. Share it, describe why are those apps important to you and why are they there, on your Homescreen.Me.
