Instagrid.Me: Popular Web Gallery Shuts Down To Reveal Something New

3 min read,

Remember Instagrid.Me? Before Instagram officially announced its own web profiles last year, this service was very popular among the hard-core Instagram users. It gave them an opportunity to view and share their photos right from the desktop browsers, as prior the that, the use of the world’s most popular photo sharing service was only restricted to mobile devices.

However, when Instagram rolled out its own web profiles, far less users were committing themselves to Instagrid.Me, and the team behind it decided to shut it down. I’ve used this service and I loved the idea that you could browse through gallery’s on your desktop and share your favorite pictures to other social networks. It was this startup spirit that brought me to it, but even I’ve stopped using it a while ago because Instagram’s profiles just made more sense.

Get ready, Instagrid 2.0 is coming!

One of the reasons the team has decided to shut down this service is so that they could allocate the resources to another project. As we’ve been told, they are working on a second version of Instagrid.Me which will come with new, distinct features that will broaden the possibilities of browsing and sharing Instagram’s pictures.

Although we still don’t know the exact date when the new Instagrid.Me will be launched, users can sign up for an early access via email. Once the Instagrid 2.0 goes live they will be notified, and we’ll definitely look more closely into it.

While waiting, try Printstagram

Nobody likes to wait, especially not for a cool new service (just think of Mailbox). Because of that, Social Print Studio, a studio behind Instagrid.Me, has prepered something really awesome for all Instagram’s users out there.

Say hello to Printstagram, a cool web service which prints out your Instagram photos. Users have several options to choose from. They can get a pack of individual photos which can be put in the family album, framed prints to put on a wall, year-round calender or miniprints.

All of these products will definitely make one’s memories even more special, but the big advantage of these prints is that you can give them to your grandma or grandpa. We all know that they like to keep their photos in albums, and this could be the perfect gift!

Now that all of us have to wait for the new Instagrid.Me, it is the perfect time to go out there with your smartphone, snap and photos and Instagram them. Who knows, maybe you’ll take some really good ones and send them to your special someone through Printstagram! 😀
