Founded in 2007 to help address the problem of valuable portable items being lost, ReturnMe (formally known as ReturnMoi) has produced millions of recovery tags protecting hundreds of thousands of customers from around the world. Some of the world’s largest brands work with ReturnMe to protect their corporate assets as well as offer a gift of peace of mind and protection for their customers. More importantly, the tags can fit virtually anything (keys, luggage, cell phones, wallets, laptops, sports equipment) and the recovery rate has been over 80%!

Today, we have a special treat for you – an interview with Suhail Niazi, the CEO and founder of ReturnMe.

How did you come up with the idea for ReturnMe?

About 10 years ago I moved to a new place. Shortly after the move my cat went missing. My cat had a pet tag but the contact information was outdated. As I went around the neighborhood posting signs of my missing cat I thought wouldn’t it be great if the there was a way that people could contact a single number which would never change and still be able to reach me. It was this idea that eventually lead to ReturnMe a few years later.

How does it work?

Once a customer has one of our recovery tags they simply need to go online to www.Return.Me to activate their unique ID# with their contact info. If their item is ever lost, finders are motivated to contact ReturnMe 24/7 by phone or our website and are rewarded for their help. We then arrange to have a courier company to pick up the lost item and ship it back to the owner anywhere in the world at no charge to them!

There are many lost & found companies out there. What sets you apart?

We focus on offering a wide range of high quality products, full service and 24/7 support. We also handle the full recovery of our customer’s belongings by shipping it back to them anywhere in the world. We are also heavily focused on helping our corporate clients build their brands. Some of the largest brands in the world trust ReturnMe because our solutions are secure, convenient, confidential and rewarding!

The rebranding is never easy. Would you describe what was the most challenging part when it comes to changing your corporate and visual identity from to Return.Me?

Yes, it is definitely challenging and time consuming. With the rebranding we also rebuilt our entire website from scratch. The old website was running on older technology and hardware, the new one is using the state of the art hardware along with the latest technology. Countless hours went in to the planning, implementation and testing of www.Return.Me

How many people work for ReturnMe and how difficult is to scale the business efficiently now days?

We are now a team of 8 and still growing. With our recent growth in the US and Europe market we are still fine tuning our operations and services we offer.

Finally, what is your advice to young entrepreneurs?

Focus, Focus & Focus. There is a ton of ways to market your business and spend money. …. The key is to find what is the best opportunity to tackle that will produce the best ROI for your business.

Also, you MUST be willing to put in hours, take risks and take a pay cut, if you can’t… don’t become an entrepreneur.
