WHOIS Extensions For Your Google Chrome Browser Will Give You Domain Information In Just 1 Click

Recently we introduced you to WHOIS, a global database full of information about domain names. Using WHOIS you can find out who the is an owner of a domain, who registered it with which registrar. Still, it is kind of impractical (and time-consuming) to open up a WHOIS database whenever you want to search for some domain info.

Luckily for us, today’s browsers allow you to create add-ons or extensions that give them some new, specific functionality. Google’s Chrome is one such browser and it has some great WHOIS extensions which will enable you to get domain name information from WHOIS in just a click of the mouse.

Quick WHOIS is the first extension in this review. It’s a dead-simple, straight on WHOIS extenstion which will show you domain name information of the site you’re currently on. Just click the icon in your toolbar and wait a second for the query to execute – you’ll get your information right there.

Vitzo WHOIS is somewhat more advanced than the previous tool, as it will open up the results in their own website where you can perform additional domain name searches. It also has a (simple) set of options, so you can choose different icon for the toolbar, add the search to the context menu so you can get WHOIS information with a right click and finally, you can choose to open results in the new tab (and to switch focus on it).

WHOIS by GoDaddy.com

GoDaddy.com, a well known domain name registrar also has its own Google Chrome WHOIS extension. The results will show up in a separate tab on GoDaddy’s website, with one usability flaw – you’ll have to enter a CAPTCHA code first. It’s not a big deal, but it would be easier just to get the information you need.
